Food Wrap / Plastic Wrap
Use Description: Plastic wrap, also known as cling film, food wrap, or Saran(TM) wrap, is used across the food industry to seal food in containers and keep it fresh for a longer period of time.
Potential Concern: Chemicals of concern may migrate from some wrap materials, contaminating prepared food and exposing customers to potential harm.
Solution Focus: For some applications reusable wraps or reusable containers may be an effective alternative to plastic wrap for maintaining freshness. Choose plastic wrap with fewer chemical additives of concern and that pose fewer toxic hazards over the lifecycle of the material. For sustainability, opt for reusable, composable, or recyclable materials.
